The Divecha wedding is close to our heart as it holds fond memories. I had read somewhere that the San Francisco residents are the happiest in America. They are artistic, entrepreneurial, healthy and live life to the fullest. It is certainly true of the Divechas. Every single memory spent in their company brings back smiles and laughter: of us going around in a mini bus on our Mumbai shopping excursion, munching on Rastaa egg sandwich at Kala Ghoda cafe and endless chatter. When not shopping, I was amused to find out that our bride Mia had been enjoying morning bike rides in rush-hour Mumbai.
Mia’s father, Arjun Divecha, would always have something new and inspiring to say about his Bombay roots and whenever we had free time, he would pull out family travel photos on his iPad to show us. The deepest bond I developed was with Diana Divecha (mother of the bride) who I respect immensely for her intuitiveness and love for culture, both American and Indian. Weddings come and go, but personal moments spent with likeminded and warm people always forever. The Divechas will remain a special family for Bridelan.
