Arati + Satish

To Love and Behold

August 2016

While shopping for Satish Kanwar and Arati Sharma I had no idea what a power couple we were servicing. He’s the GM and VP of Shopify, a Canadian e-commerce giant and was on the coveted Forbes 30 under 30. She’s the marketing of product at the same company. Yet, they were the humblest and coolest couple to work with. Cut back to an email I received from Arati Sharma, bride-to-be. It read, “We’ve shopped for all major outfits, need help with shopping for jewellery, some looks for the family and shipping all this to Canada.” A trip to Jaipur yielded some fine jewellery. We custom-made floral safas, pure pashminas and made multiple trips to Sabyasachi store for Satish’s styling and Arati’s wedding and reception lehengas. The couple knew exactly what they wanted and did everything right to keep the focus on them. The wedding was a hallmark of elegance, taste and realism. For me, the high point was the sophisticated photography by Mango Studios, the reception at the Royal Ontorio Museum and moments like Arati digging into pizzas and her favourite doughnuts.

The wedding is featured on Toronto Life and The Crimson Bride.

“I once read that in any good marriage, one partner is the gardener and the other is the garden. We take it in turns to be either.”

Kind words

“The outfit and jewellery were the inspiration for the rest of the decor and event experience. To work with Bridelan it was stressful at times working in different time zones, but ultimately worth it. I loved everything that we shopped. My advice to couples planning their wedding: you’re the main attraction on your day. Be inspired by your outfits and let the colour scheme and details for the event complement you.”
